Boyle was one of, if not, the most influential Irish composer of the first half of the 20th Century and her style has a beautifully distinctive and melodic character. This disc also includes rarely recorded quartet gems from her teacher Ralph Vaughan Williams and her contemporaries, E.J.Moeran and John Ireland.
