We’ll be releasing Mark-Anthony Turnage’s 2nd Quartet, ‘Contusion’ with the NMC label. The work is based on Sylvia Plath’s last poem before her suicide. We were awarded the best performance prize for this work at the Wigmore Hall International SQ Competition and Turnage subsequently revised the piece and dedicated it to us.

A long anticipated release of rarely heard and special quartet works by RVW, Moeran and Ireland, along with the premiere recording of Ina Boyle’s Quartet in E minor (1934). These are all composers that have links and interconnected and it is a recording packed full of memorable folk tales and tunes from the far corners of Ireland and Wales.
