The Kirker Ischia Music Festival: Over the past eleven years Kirker have presented a series of high-level concerts on the beautiful island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples with some of the world’s most distinguished chamber musicians, pianists and singers. All six concerts are held in the concert hall at La Mortella, next to the study where Sir William Walton composed. The hall is reached via the glorious garden at La Mortella which was created by Lady Walton over many years and is now universally recognised as one of the world’s great gardens.

World premiere of a new work for string quartet: a poetic translation of mathematical ideas into sound.
Composer Emily Howard’s music is known for its particular connection with science and she has a background in mathematics and computer science. Regular conversations with mathematicians and scientists enhance her creative work and over the last year Emily has been exchanging ideas with mathematician Marcus du Sautoy, the Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science, and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford.
