Piatti Festival at Kingsand

Our annual chamber music festival in Cornwall

The Piatti Chamber Music Festival at Kingsand was launched in 2009 and is continuing to grow each year, based in to beautiful area of the Rame Peninsular and tucked away in a smugglers cove along the south coast of Cornwall.

Background

Kingsand is a place which inspired us to think about starting our own Chamber Music Festival as it is filled with a variety of interesting and perfect chamber music venues right next to the sea. In one or two of the venues you can even hear the waves lapping or occasionally crashing against the building!

Last year’s festival

The 2011 festival was a great success seeing record audience numbers on the second night and we would like to thank our guest artiste, Clarinetist James Meldrum for his beautiful playing, it was a pleasure to have him join us.

This year we have added an educational side to the Festival by giving two schools workshops in Four Lanes End Primary School and Milbrook School. Both of which we all thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the children and also giving them insight into the quartet lifestyle!

Plans for 2012

2012 is beginning to take shape with we are excited to start thinking about adding more concerts. We are hoping to bring the infamous Schubert cello quintet for the Piatti and friends concert and also another wonderful guest artiste. Pencilled dates for your diary are 8th-10th june 2012.

Become a Piatti Friend

We have set up the Piatti Friend scheme in order to help the festival grow and to build its following. You can find out more information here, or contact us using the form below.
